be nothing short of (something)

To be exemplary a particular quality. (That quality is then stated after "of.") It's nothing short of astonishing that she got the whole house cleaned in time for her dinner party. I'm surprised we weren't asked to leave the restaurant because the kids' behavior was nothing short of atrocious.
