bet (one's) boots

To be so certain of something as to be (figuratively) willing to bet an important or essential personal possession, e.g., one's shoes. I'd bet my boots that there will be a cure for cancer by the time I reach 60. You can bet your boots the government knows all sorts of things they aren't telling us.
