To jump into the air, especially in a vehicle or on sports equipment (e.g., skis, skateboards, inline skates, etc.). "Air" is often preceded by a modifier such as "big" or "major" to emphasize the size of the jump. I love this ski slope, you can catch some major air off some of its jumps!
