have a bad time

have a bad time

To have an unpleasant experience of something (usually used in the past tense). I had a really bad time last night. My date showed up an hour late and then was so disinterested that she left half an hour later! The lecture was incredibly boring, but I tried to hide the fact that I was having a bad time.
