To soundly, decisively, and/or thoroughly defeat or thrash someone or something, as in a competition or a physical confrontation. It was so satisfying to see the home team lick the pants off our cross-town rivals! When we were growing up, we knew never to disobey our mama, or she would lick the pants off us!
