see the point (of something)

To understand or appreciate the meaning, reason, or importance of something. I just don't see the point of another year in high school when I know I can go find work now! I hope you see the point of everything your mother and I do for you! I thought about taking some extra classes this summer, but I'm not sure I see the point.
