To assuage or relieve someone's or one's own worry, anxiety, dread, fear, etc. I know you're anxious to hear how your father is doing after the surgery, so let me set your mind to rest: he's going to make a full recovery. I'm trying to set my mind to rest about these debts, but I just can't get it out of my head.
