DOA

1. mod. dead on arrival. (Hospitals. Initialism.) The kid was DOA, and there was nothing anybody could do.

2. n. a person who is dead on arrival at a hospital. They brought in two DOAs Saturday night.

3. n. phencyclidine (PCP). (Because it is deadly.) Stay away from DOA. There’s a good reason why it’s called that.
