‘Ηροδοτος (Herodotos), derived from
‘ηρως (heros) "hero, warrior" and
δοτος (dotos) "given, granted". Herodotus was a Greek historian of the 5th century BC who wrote about Persian and the Persian Wars. He is known as the Father of History.
